The purpose of this E-Mail is to share with you today’s EPISD Tuesday Teacher Tracker.
1. The below are the number of empty positions being advertised by EPISD HR as of 7:00 AM January 16th, 2024.
2. Posted Teacher Openings:
a. Elementary (pK-5) – 113 Posted Openings, down 4 from 1.9.
b. Middle School (6-8) – 25 Posted Openings, down 1 from 1.9.
c. High School (9-12) – 24 Posted Openings, up 4 from 1.9.
d. Total – 162 Posted Openings, down 3 from 1.9.
e. Putting that in perspective, last year at this time, there were only 122 Posted Openings, and the number of teachers required was larger.
3. Parents and Educators, you must ask yourself why are the Superintendent and the powers that be in HR comfortable with at least 113 Elementary Classes, many Special Education and 294 Secondary classes not having a permanent, certified teacher assigned.
4. Comment: The rumblings from Fortress Stanton are that the Supe is quite displeased with the number of openings being made public as well as the impact on students and the backstory of profiting being shared. Rumblings are that the Magic Math game may being played to drive down the displeasing numbers.
5. Thursday, January 25th is the next EPISD Regular Board Meeting. Yes, that is a change from the normal Tuesday scheduling.
